Well, I had my first quiz in Math 107, and it wasn't overly difficult, but I knew it wasn't going to be (because I've had this prof before and I know what his tests/quizes are like). So, I think I did fairly well on it, leaving room for stupid mistakes and such. And I don't have my Anthropology class tonight, so I can actually leave campus at 5:30 today. Amazing! Hopefully I'll make myself read over the chapters that we're going to be discussing next week, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. I also should start the assignments that are due on Monday, but I'm not quite sure how to do them, and I don't have my guidelines with me (because I forgot them at home, stupid me), so that will have to wait until tomorrow or sometime over the weekend.
So, last September-ish, I lent $500 to a friend so that she could get into her apartment and I wouldn't have to keep driving out into the country to pick her up and take her into town to work or to any of her appointments or anything. I lent her the money under the pretense that she would repay me as soon as she was able. And, for a while, work was going well for her and she paid me back like $110 of it in the first month. So, I figured she'd get it back to me eventually, and it's not like I was in need of the money. I got about $1500 back from scholarships and my loan after my classes were paid for, so I had money, but it still would have been nice to have it, just in case. Anyways. Now, my parents have my paying for my car insurance, which is fine, but it's $100 a month, and I also have to put gas in my tank, and buy myself food while I'm stuck on campus all day long, so my expenses have increased greatly since the beginning of the year. Plus, I've got to get my car's radiator replaced and get the AC fixed (which could range from about $200 to close to $1000), and I also want to save up some money for any "vacations" I might want to have this summer. So, in other words, it's been about 7 months since I loaned her the money, and she still owes me almost $400 of it, and I really need to get it back.
Well, I've been trying to get ahold of her for weeks to talk to her about it, and she's conveniently been at work, or away from her phone, and I really don't want to discuss it over the phone, so all I wanted to do was schedule a time when we could meet up for a little while (most likely on the weekend) so we could talk about it. Well, she's supposedly been working 2 jobs and doesn't have any time off (except Thursdays, which I'm on campus from about 9 AM to 7:30 PM) and our schedules aren't compatible. So, I got ahold of her yesterday and I'm gonna try and meet up with her on Saturday, but we'll see how that goes. I'm not in dire need of the money right now, but I would like to have it back before that happens. Needless to say, I'm not going to loaning her money any more. I figured I could trust her to get it back to me, but I see that she feels she can take her sweet time in doing so, so that's it, Bank Maggie is all closed up! ;p I shouldn't have lent her the money in the first place, but she's my friend, and she was in a bind, and I figured I could help her out...turns out, it's cost me a lot more than $500 (because she doesn't feel the need to give me gas money for taking her grocery shopping).
