The weekend!
I was hoping to get to sleep in today, but I woke up around 9 this morning. Considering I'm usually up by 6:30 or 7:30, 9 is sleeping in, but it's still earlier than I was planning on. Oh, yay, I got paid yesterday! That means that I can go do some shopping today! I'm kinda in need of some dressier clothes to be able to wear over to the elementary...mostly shirts that cover me up, not that the ones I've got are bad, but the neck lines are kinda low and I don't want to give a free show to the 1st graders! ;p

Pretty good day
So, last September-ish, I lent $500 to a friend so that she could get into her apartment and I wouldn't have to keep driving out into the country to pick her up and take her into town to work or to any of her appointments or anything. I lent her the money under the pretense that she would repay me as soon as she was able. And, for a while, work was going well for her and she paid me back like $110 of it in the first month. So, I figured she'd get it back to me eventually, and it's not like I was in need of the money. I got about $1500 back from scholarships and my loan after my classes were paid for, so I had money, but it still would have been nice to have it, just in case. Anyways. Now, my parents have my paying for my car insurance, which is fine, but it's $100 a month, and I also have to put gas in my tank, and buy myself food while I'm stuck on campus all day long, so my expenses have increased greatly since the beginning of the year. Plus, I've got to get my car's radiator replaced and get the AC fixed (which could range from about $200 to close to $1000), and I also want to save up some money for any "vacations" I might want to have this summer. So, in other words, it's been about 7 months since I loaned her the money, and she still owes me almost $400 of it, and I really need to get it back.
Well, I've been trying to get ahold of her for weeks to talk to her about it, and she's conveniently been at work, or away from her phone, and I really don't want to discuss it over the phone, so all I wanted to do was schedule a time when we could meet up for a little while (most likely on the weekend) so we could talk about it. Well, she's supposedly been working 2 jobs and doesn't have any time off (except Thursdays, which I'm on campus from about 9 AM to 7:30 PM) and our schedules aren't compatible. So, I got ahold of her yesterday and I'm gonna try and meet up with her on Saturday, but we'll see how that goes. I'm not in dire need of the money right now, but I would like to have it back before that happens. Needless to say, I'm not going to loaning her money any more. I figured I could trust her to get it back to me, but I see that she feels she can take her sweet time in doing so, so that's it, Bank Maggie is all closed up! ;p I shouldn't have lent her the money in the first place, but she's my friend, and she was in a bind, and I figured I could help her out...turns out, it's cost me a lot more than $500 (because she doesn't feel the need to give me gas money for taking her grocery shopping).

Dealing with munchkins
So, today was kinda long, even tho I was only there for about 6 1/2 hours, and my feet hurt really bad! I'm probably going to have to get half of a new wardrobe to wear over there, because I have to dress appropriately for dealing with 1st graders. Not that my current wardrobe is bad, but I have to look nice, and I don't want to have to worry about giving the kids a peep show if I bend over too far. So, I figure I can find a couple more pairs of dressy pants, and about 10 dressy shirts that cover me up. The shirts won't have to be as restrictive as I was thinking, but I still can't wear most of my current wardrobe over there, just to be on the cautious side. And the kids are really loud...the teacher had to keep turning off the lights and stuff to get them to quiet down, and that didn't work for long.
One good thing about being at the elementary today is that it was someone's birthday, so I got a piece of cake with my lunch! Not that I need cake, but it was pretty good, and I'm not usually one to turn down food. :)

Spring Quarter '07
Oh yeah, Jake went and picked up the ring that he bought me for our 1-year anniversary. It's gorgeous, in my opinion, at least..and that's the only one that counts. It's got a white gold band, and where the gem is attached (a ruby), there are two little diamonds (or Cubic zirconias) and the band looks like it's twisted. It's really pretty, and I can't do it any justice by describing it in my own words...but I can't seem to get a decent picture of it, so that'll just have to do.

First day back
I'm excited to see how being in the elementary school goes. I hope that the kids are well behaved but they should also be fun. Unfortunately, I have to act like a teacher, and I can't have fun with the kids like I did when I was just helping out over at Northridge. This will be a different experience, I think. I'm also supposed to bring my own lunch on Wednesday, just in case they want you to order ahead if you plan on eating there...plus, I doubt I'll enjoy eating school food again.

Yesterday
After everyone finished eating, Brittany, Sarah and I were threatened with being taken to K-Mart to be beaten my Mom (aka:Katy), but that plan was foiled, and we headed over to the mall. We wandered around in JCPenney for a while while Skank was looking for some Europe-worthy clothing (which I don't think she found), and then they headed over to Hot Topic. I took Kate and Britt down to Rogers Jewelers with me to see if my aunt was down there and to take a better look at the ring that Jake bought me (which I won't have until Tuesday). Then we went back to Hot Topic, and Jess, Megan and Sarah decided to go over to Journeys, so Britt, Kate and I went down to Waldens. Then we found them in Rue 21, and headed to the game store after a while. Sarah and I headed down to Old Navy because I had a shirt to return, and I wanted to look for some capris, and Kate left the mall after she was done in Game Stop. Britt eventually found us in Old Navy. I got 2 new shirts and a pair of capris, which don't look like pants on me...it's amazing! I tried on some other stuff, but they just weren't working for me, so I only got one pair of capris that day, but I'll go back eventually.
While we were waiting on the rest of the crew to get down to that side of the mall, Sarah, Britt and I went to Ben and Jerry's and got some smoothies (except for Britt, anyways). And when the others decided to join us, we went into Claire's, where I bought myself some sunglasses, that actually prevent the sun from getting in my eyes. *gasp* And they have a little bling on them, too. :)
I had to leave shortly after getting my sunglasses, but not before a trip into Spencer's, of course. Found lots of kinky stuff in there, but didn't buy anything. After I left, I headed over to The Old Barn Out Back to meet Jake and his parents for dinner (I shouldn't have had that smoothie). I'd never been there before, but it was good. They were having ribs and chicken on their buffet that night, which was awesome! And they also had a live band that was playing some pretty good songs. When we finally finished stuffing ourselves, we headed back to Jake's house, where we watched "Grendel" on the SciFi channel...interesting movie, not much like the story I read. Jake had to leave for work a little after 9 PM, so I headed home when he left. And the I came home and fnished up Harry Potter Book 6. :) Yay me! I feel like I got some stuff accomplished yesterday...and today I think I'll lie around the house and do nothing. Actually, it looks like it might be kinda nice outside, so maybe I'll visit the Rock Garden or something today.

Spring Break
What sucks about this week, too, is that it's been pretty crappy the whole time. It hasn't really felt like spring, and that's kinda depressing. It's supposed to be pretty nice on Monday, I think...just in time for me to be stuck in a building all day so that I can't enjoy the nice weather...fantastic! I just wish we'd have one really nice day before we have to go back!
Some exciting news about next quarter is that I'll actually get to sleep in a little. My earliest class starts at around 9 AM, so I don't have to get up until about 7:30...which is an hour later than usual. No more 8 AM days for me this quarter!!! Except when I have to be over at the elementary school on Wednesdays and Fridays, but 2 earlier days is a hell of a lot better than 5!

Ugg
Maybe I'll wander over to the Bookstore on my lunch break and see how much my books are gonna cost me this quarter. It shouldn't be too much considering that I'll only have, at most, 2 classes to buy books for....but, they could turn out to be $100 books (because our skanky bookstore does that sometimes), and then I would be hating life even more. Speaking of Bookstore...I should run over there and get some breakfast...if my supervisor ever shows up. I've probably got at least another hour before that'll happen.
I wish that I could enjoy my break, but I'm stuck on this stupid campus for 2 1/2 days and so those days are pretty much shot for making any plans because I don't get home until 5:30ish (PM) and then I have to be up again at 6:30ish (AM). But, I have Friday completely free if anyone wants to get together and do something that day? And I don't have to be up early the next day, so I could actually do something in the evening without having to get home and in bed. :) I wish I got to sleep in more!

*sigh*
So, when people ask me what I'm going to college for, I tell them what my major is, and then I tell them that it's probably not what I want anymore, but I don't really know what I'll do. I just want to be out of college...out of school, and I want time to relax! I don't mind college so much when we're on breaks, but that's mostly because I don't have classes and homework and reading to worry about. I'm so sick of school, and I'm so ready to be done with it! The movie "Van Wilder" was on the other day, and as I was watching it, I was wondering how any person could stand to be in school for 7 years...I mean, he was popular and everyone liked him and he supposedly went to class and did pretty well, but I just don't understand how he could handle that. I understand that it's in the script, and that it's not true...but there are people who have to be in school that long (like the medical majors) and I just can't fathom how horrible it would be to have college for that many years, if I've only had about 2 years, and I'm ready to get out! Of course, I was ready to leave shortly after arriving...not that my college is a bad one or anything, but I just don't enjoy school, and college is a completely different world from high school...everything is more relaxed, and it's easy to get behind when you don't have your teachers following you around and reminding you that assignments are due and trying to keep you on track. Not that I want teachers following me around, but it would be nice to have someone help keep me on track...but I guess I'll have to learn to do that myself.

Oh yeah, Happy St. Patrick's Day (a little late, but still there)!!!

:D
I still have to turn in my Art notebook for my final, and I'm pretty sure I'll have an A in the class. As for my Math class...I don't know. The final was kinda difficult because it was comprehensive, and that gave me a lot of stuff to review, and left open a bunch of places for errors. So, we'll see how that turned out, sometime today, hopefully.
I went shopping yesterday at Wal-Mart (I orriginally went to get some stuff to make strawberry pie). I ended up buying 2 pairs of flip-flops (blue and black, with the squishy stuff on the bottom), and a pair of black wanna-be Crocs. I also got the stuff for the pie, and I probably would have bought more if I'd have stayed any longer. ;p
I went back to Wal-Mart (in Wapak) with Jake yesterday evening, and I bought some more yarn for the blanket I'm making for him. I also bought some stuff to make a "Girl's Night" basket for Jake's mom and sister for Friday night (we're having a "girl's night"). All in all, I think I spent about $60 at Wal-Mart yesterday, so I'm probably done buying things there for a while.
Oh yeah, and my front tires got stuck in the mud at Jake's house last night, and we had to wake his dad up to come pull me out. We couldn't really find any good places to hook the chain on to, so his dad put it on this little ledge thingy that's behind my bumper. When he started to pull, it made an unfriendly sound, but then Jake went around to the front and started pushing, and that helped a lot, and my car was finally unstuck! I felt really bad for them having to go thru all of that, but it's not like I planned on that happening. It took about half an hour to finally get me out of the mud (it would have taken about 15 if we would have gone to get his dad right away instead of trying to handle it ourselves). So, that was my little adventure for the evening...and I hope I don't have any repeats on Friday!

Awesome-ness!!!
Well, yesterday was "The Big Day," my 1-year anniversary with Jake. We went out to dinner at Western Sizzlin' Steakhouse, and we had the buffet, which was okay, but could have been so much better...but that didn't stop me from eating a whole big bunch (I should have skipped the salad and the soup, which weren't all that great)! And then he dragged me to the mall because he wanted me to pick out a ring (which he spent almost $120 on, and I really didn't want him to spend that much!), and I felt kinda crappy because I was so full. But I felt better after a little bit, and we found a ring in Roger's (where my aunt works), and then we went and perused around Walden's for a while, bought my brother a b-day present (since yesterday was his b-day, as well as my anniversary, and which I had completely forgotten about until Jake mentioned getting Eldest for Ben), and then proceeded to run into Dad and Ben in JCPenney's. And then we walked around Hot Topic for a while, and I bought some really funky/cool blueish-green nail polish (and I got some pink nail polish for Mary). And then we went back to Jake's house. Oh yeah, I don't get to have the ring until the 27th, which kinda sucks, but that's 2 more weeks that I don't have to worry about breaking it or losing it. ;p

Motivation
Tomorrow is my 1-year anniversary. I don't know what's going on because Jake won't tell me what we're doing. I also have to get my BCII background check done soon (I'm planning on getting that taken care of tomorrow) so that I can do my Field Experience during Spring Quarter. Thankfully the fingerprinting is now done electronically, so I don't have to get ink all over my hand(s). Unfortunately, I think they have to take a picture of me for my file...and I have this icky cold sore on the corner of my mouth, so that's gonna be fun. Maybe I heard wrong, tho, and they don't take pictures...that would be amazing!
Finals
I'm sitting here at work, and all I really want to be doing is sleeping. My cat woke me up around 4-4:30 this morning....he was poking me in the face with his claw. I should have tossed him out of my room before I went to bed, but I was too tired to care at that point. And even when I tried to let him out after he woke me up, he followed me to the bathroom, and then he followed me back into my bed. If he wanted attention, he sure picked the wrong time to try and get it.

Can I go crazy yet?
One good thing coming up next week is my 1-year anniversary. It's next Tuesday, and I'm pretty excited about it. I've already gotten some pretty cool stuff for Jake, but I'm not sure what kind of plans we have. Mary said that Jake was planning something really sweet, but I have no idea what it is, and of course, he's not going to tell me. So, I guess I'll find out then.
Today is my last day of classes! We're having a pizza party in my Art Ed. class tonight, and that should be fun. I just have to remember to buy a drink and make sure I've got $2 on me for the pizza. I'm excited about that, tho...I'll actually get to have some real food today. :)

Getting things done
And yesterday, I bought myself and actual desk chair...you know, one with a back and all that.
It doesn't match my room, but it's basically the right size, it has an air lift, and the seat is really soft. :)
I also have a birthday card that I need to mail to my pseudo-niece...her birthday was yesterday, but I completely forgot during the week that it would be some day this weekend. So, I guess she'll just get it a little late. Heck, it took me almost 2 years to send her the baby blanket that I made for her! ;p
After tomorrow (weather permitting), I should be done with my Psych class! That means that I can leave campus at 1:00 on Wednesday...that's gonna be amazing! I can't remember the last time that I got to leave that early.
Well, anyways. I'd better go get ready so I can take my Grandpa a Max's milkshake. :) I hope you guys have a nice weekend! and that the weather isn't horrible for the remainder of what is left of it.

Yay for me...
Yesterday, at work, it was like the "day from Hell!" I was by myself for 2 hours in the morning, and there was a pretty steady flow of people into the office. But the last half hour our so, there was a constant crowd at the desk, or at least that's what it felt like. Today's been kinda like that, only I actually have a coworker here with me today, thank God! If it's like this tomorrow, when I'm stuck in the office from 10-5...I'm gonna end up killing something!
