*double stab to the eye*

I had my exam in my Communications class this morning. I feel confident that I got at least 50% of the questions right...that's good, right? And I lost $2 today. I'm not really stressed about that, but it is $2, and that could be my lunch money for one of the days this week because I'm -poor-!!! (I hate it!) But oh well.

My mom left me a voicemail on my cell today telling me that my grandpa's in the hospital, so I'm going to stop by there and see him before I go home. Hopefully he'll be able to talk to me. I have no idea why he's there, so maybe I can get that out of him...if all else fails, I'll just bug my mom about it when I get home. So, that's fun...

Not long enough

I don't think this weekend was long enough...I wish we had a few more days to chill out. I didn't get to sleep in hardly at all, which makes me sad. I woke up this morning wishing that I could just turn off my alarm clock and roll over...but I was denied.

We only have this week and then finals next week (I only have finals on Monday and Tuesday, but I work all week *stab*) and then we go on Winter Break, which is a little over 3 weeks, I think. I can't wait! I'm so sick of school and work, school and work, school and work!!! I just want a little variety or something! And this past weekend was nice because it -was- different from my usual schedule. And I got to hang out with lots of people that I don't normally see, which is pretty much everyone. That was nice. :)

I got some stuff done over the weekend, though it was mostly shopping and not so much with the studying for my exam on Tuesday, which I really should be doing right now, but am obviously -not- doing. I really should at least try to know this stuff because it's going to be on the final, too. Oh well...I'll get around to it eventually, I guess.

Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I'm kinda excited about this holiday because I get to spend time with family and all that, but that won't happen until Saturday, really. Tomorrow, my time will be divided up between my house and Jake's house...yay. Friday, I'm gonna get to hang out with some friends who are back in town for the holiday! And I also plan on going to see "Happy Feet" because it'll be at the theatre in town. And, anyone is welcome to join me if they'd like. :) I'll be doing some Christmas shopping that afternoon, and if you don't hear from that evening, it's because all of the crazy day-after-Christmas-shoppers killed me. ;p Oh, and they're going to start playing Christmas music on the radio on Friday because it's the day after Thanksgiving, and that's what they do. So, that should get me into a shopping mood. :)

work

Well, I found out Friday what my work schedule's going to look like over break. I'll be working 8 am-12 pm on Wednesday, and from 8 am-5 pm Thursday and Friday. This is how it will be for the two whole weeks of break. The week of Christmas I'll only be working 8 am-12 pm Thursday and then 8 am- 5 pm Friday. And I'm not really sure about the 1st and 2nd of January...we may get those off, too. I don't know. So, that will be exciting! But not nearly as exciting as my schedule for Finals week....I think I'm all over the place that week! And my work schedule for winter might be okay...except for Fridays, because I have like a 6-hour work day...but no classes, which is cool.

OH YEAH!!!

OSU WON!!!!!!

I was so excited when I was watching the game this afternoon/evening! It was a really close game! It was awesome! It was a little tense during the last quarter when Michigan had the ball and there was only like 5 and a half minutes left on the clock; they did score, but we kept them from intersepting once we got the ball....and we didn't screw up! It was GREAT! I can't wait for the next one! :)

GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!

*stab*

I found out today that I'm almost definately going to be working over Christmas break, but I don't know what my schedule's going to look like yet, and I don't know if I'll be getting paid the same amount or maybe less (tho it would be great if they would pay me more ;p). I was really hoping to have that time off, but I can't just abandon the one other guy that's actually going to be working. But, I do believe that I get Christmas Eve, Day and the day after off, so that will be pretty nice, and the office isn't open on weekends.

I just read Sarah's blog and that reminded me of something that I've been thinking about. When I started college, I was sure that I wanted to teach...and I'm not really feeling that anymore. I'm still getting my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, but I'm not planning on getting the master's...at least, not right now. I'll have to talk to my advisor because I'm not sure what else I can do with a bachelor's in education besides teach...I should have asked her that when I had my appointment a week or so ago, but I didn't.

Anyways. I'm still pursuing the same kinda general direction as before, but not the exact same path. Hopefully I'll be able to find something that I'll enjoy. Obviously I'm not in it for the money, so that's not really a major part of my decision. I just hope I can figure something out. I've already invested 46 credit hours into this major...sure, a few of those classes might roll over into another major, but not all of them. I just...I don't know what to do anymore. I thought I had everything all figured out, but then things changed.

Winter Quarter

So, this is what my schedule (at least for my classes) is going to look like next quarter...Thursdays are probably going to make me want to stab myself.

Monday
Math 106: 10:20-11:40
Psych 367.01: 1:30-3:30

Tuesday
Math 106: 10:20-11:40
English 275: 1:30-3:30

Wednesday
Math 106: 10:20-11:40
Psych 367.01: 1:30-3:30

Thursday
English 275: 1:30-3:30
Art Educ 600: 5:30-9:00

I don't have any classes on Fridays, but I will probably work...I'm thinking that I'll be hating life next quarter. I'm only taking 3 more credit hours than I'm used to, but still...school and work definately suck when you have to do them together!

YAY!

I was out with my friend while she was doing some grocery shopping, and I found Egg Nog! That made me so happy! So, of course I had to buy some, and now it's in my fridge. :) That made my day.
Also, today is Tabby's birthday, but it's also Mike's birthday, and those two kinda hate eachother, and I think that's histerical (no offense to either of them, but it's pretty ironic). I don't really like birthday shopping for people these days because I never know what to get them. Yesterday, I was at the mall looking for something for Tabby and my brother's birthday is coming up soon, so I was looking for something from him, too...and I had absolutely no idea where to start. So, they both got/are getting gift cards. Sometimes they seem kinda impersonal, but I'll get them a more thoughtful gift for Christmas...when I have a little more time to plan it.
In other news...2 weeks from this past Thursday is Thanksgiving break! A 4-day weekend! I'm so f-ing excited. Unfotunately, I have a paper due on Tuesday of this coming week, and I think I may have some midterms before Thanksgiving, but oh well. I'll BS my way thru all of that and I'll be looking forward to that time off. I can't wait for winter break!

winter break

So, I just found out that I may not be able to work over Christmas break because I'm a work study student, and whoever's in charge of the program (someone in Washington, D.C.) apparently won't be paying any work study people for that time period. I'm really not sure how I feel about this. I kinda want to have a job so that I have money, but then I kinda want to have the time off so that I can hang with friends and have a good time between quarters and enjoy my break. So, I don't know about this. I guess maybe I'm having mixed feelings. But, right now I'm thinking that a break from work won't be such a bad idea by the time break rolls around. Some of my co-workers get on my nerves easily...so, time away from them would be great!

On to more recent news. My scheduling window opened up yesterday and I scheduled 2 classes that I thought I needed to fulfill requirements and whatnot, but when I had me meeting with my advisor this morning, I found out that one of them I don't necessarily -have- to take, so I dropped that and added 3 other classes. So, I'm going to have 18 credit hours Winter Quarter, and I'll be working...I don't know how that's going to work out...but, I can always drop the Art class if I feel a little overloaded. :) I'm hoping that I'll get thru that quarter okay...I'm taking my other writing course, and an English class, so I'm probably going to have loads of reading to do...yay.

Okay, for those of you who don't know yet, the book "Eragon" is being made into a movie and it will be in theatres December 15th! I'm so excited! I'm -so- going to see that opening night! So, if anyone's interested, we can go as a group or whatever. It doesn't really matter to me because I -will- be seeing it, either way. :)

Hump Day

Today is Wednesday (aka: Hump Day) and I realized today that they are my longest days... school sucks! I also realized that my scheduling window opens up today, and guess where I'll be when that happens...yeah, that's right, at Jake's house. I mean, I'll be over there crocheting with his mom, sister, and probably grandma, but still. Since she's had the surgery, we've spent every evening over there...I don't mind so much, but I'm starting to miss being home. I love spending time with Jake and everything, but while I'm there, everyone's taking care of his mom, which is what they should be doing, but I'm not spending that much time with him. Hopefully Katy and Tabby will give me a call tomorrow after they get off work and we can go hang out...just to get some variety in my life! I'm kinda desperate for a change right now! It seems like I follow the same schedule every single week, and it's getting old and tiring. I need to spice up my life.
And pretty much everyone's going to be home this weekend (except for Jess), so hopefully we can all do something. :) I don't know what, or where, but I'm sure we'll have a great time no matter where we end up...we always do.
Oh, and one more thing I'm getting tired of...my co-worker (the guy) pretty much never shows up on time, and he's been calling in a lot, not for the whole day, but still. Yesterday, he called in the morning and said he wouldn't be in until the afternoon...well, we really needed him to cover his shift that morning because there wasn't going to be anyone else up here. Our supervisor is out on her honeymoon, or whatever, so she wasn't here...she's gone all week, in fact. So, we had to tell her boss that nobody was going to be up at the desk for that period of time, and he found someone to cover. But, when I saw my co-worker later that day, I told him that he's going to have to "suck it up" sometimes during this week especially, because he can't be calling off for an hour or two every day. I tried to be nice when I was telling him this, and I hope I was. But, we can't afford to have the desk unattended...that would be bad.
So, I bought a pecan pie to take over to Jake's house for dessert tonight (I'm trying to help out a little with the food because Margie can't really cook right now) and I hope that it tastes ok. I'm kinda looking forward to having some. :) When I spend a bunch of time over at there house, I feel like I'm eating all there food...but, I have to eat -something- for dinner...I can't starve myself. And, I always end up eating over there anyways, cuz Jake makes me. But anyways. Mary is making calzones for dinner, and I'm pretty excited about that! :)

Ugh...

I can't believe that it's Monday again. This past weekend wasn't nearly long enough. I would have enjoyed being able to sleep in on Saturday, but my mom called me and asked me to run to the store for her....she called me at like 9:30 A.M. So much for sleeping in. And I went to 5 o'clock mass on Saturday, so I figured I could sleep in on Sunday...no such luck. My brothers had like 6 or 7 friends over and they were all up by like 9. Oh well...maybe I'll get some sleep next weekend.

I'm so excited tho, because I don't have class on Friday, and I don't have to work! I'm going to have the whole day to do what I want. I'm not going to know how to handle myself with all that free time. And Britt's coming home that day, so maybe I'll actually get to see her this weekend?! Yay Onion!

On a slightly sad note...Jake's mom is going in for surgery today. She's getting a "heel spur" removed...only it's not located in the typical area that heel spurs are usually in, so it might be a little more complicated to remove it. Anyways, I'm a little worried about her...I'm sure she will be fine, but I can't help but worry a little. There are always those bad images and thoughts that you suppress and shove to the back of your mind, but sometimes they escape. Jake and I are going to pick her up some flowers after we get out of class today, and hopefully she'll be able to recognize us...I'm not sure how doped up she'll be after the surgery.

So, for some good news. That book, Eragon, which is a pretty good book. Well, they're making it into a movie, and it comes out December 15th! I'm so going to see that opening night! I don't care if I've gotta pay the $8 they charge at the big theatre! So, I'm excited about that. :)

...eh

So, I'm here at work for the next 4ish hours and I have a feeling that it's going to be extremely boring...mostly because it's Thursday, and Thursdays and Fridays aren't busy here (usually). So, since I don't really have anything else to do, I figured I'd blog. :)

I found out today in my Communications class that our second paper (and our final one, thank God!) is now due on the 14th instead of the 9th. But, we have this survey thingy that we've gotta get done by the end of November, I think, and that's going to be a lot of BS! So, I'm glad that I have a little bit longer for the paper, which I'll probably start next week, sometime.

Oh yeah. Yesterday, my co-worker, Devin, introduced me to this new game. It's called Stick RPG. Basically, you walk around as this little stick person, whom you can name, and you try to improve their stats, and you can get a job, and then get a better job and so on. You can also buy stuff, like caffeine pills, which increase the length of your day, and you can get more done. And you can also get in bar fights, which I haven't done yet, but I plan on playing around with it more when I have the time...so, probably today. ;p

And tomorrow, I'm taking Jake to Olive Garden for lunch, which will be f-ing amazing and I can't wait! They have the pasta, salad and breadsticks lunch for like $6, or whatever it is, so I decided that I'm having lunch there on Friday because I get off work at 1 and I can actually leave campus. :) So, yay food!
