Well, the lady never called me Tuesday or Wednesday. So, I called her this morning, and now apparently it will be sometime next week before she knows whether I'll get the job or not...fabulous. I'm running out of money now, which is the whole reason I applied for the damn job, and I can't really afford to lose another 2 weeks because she hasn't gotten the chance to speak with the owner (or whoever it is she needs to speak with).
So, I plan on giving the temp agency a call tomorrow to see if they have any updates. If not, then I'm going to pick up some more applications and get those turned in, though I don't know what good it will do..it seems like nobody is going to hire me just for the summer.
Well, I went to see 2 movies today: "Live Free or Die Hard" and "1408." I really liked the "Die Hard" movie...it was extremely entertaining. "1408" was interesting and it was pretty suspensful, but it's not exactly my style of movie...plus, I found more opportunities to laugh at inappropriate times with the "Die Hard" movie, and that's always fun. :)

Interview #2
Well, my interview at the Comfort Inn was today. It basically took me longer to drive over there than it did for the lady to interview me. But, there might be a good chance of me getting a job, which is good. I just have to wait for her to call me back (which she said should be sometime tomorrow or Wednesday) and see if they're going to hire me for a housekeeping position. I just wish that I didn't have to wait that long. I'm eager to start working and start earning some money.
Later today, I'm scheduled to go out to Olive Garden with Mary (and possibly Jake and his parents) for dinner. I'm so excited! I haven't been there in ages and I've been kinda craving it for a while now. So hopefully the food is excellent! I'm trying not to eat too much today so that I have room for dessert when we go. I haven't been able to find room for dessert in a long time, so by God, I'm going to today! ;p And it's going to be FaBuLoUs!!!
And, I just realized that I have less than a month before my birthday...I can't believe that I'm going to be 20...it just doesn't seem possible. I wonder if 20 will feel any different than any of my other birthdays? I don't know that I've ever actually felt older on any of my birthdays, so I wonder if that will change with this one? If not, it just means that I'm only 1 year away from being able to buy alcohol for myself, and that will -definately- make me feel different!

Amazing...
That pretty much describes the adventure at Wal-Mart tonight. I met up with Sarah, Brittany and Megan around 9 P.M. and we wandered around aimlessly. We started out in the clothes section, where Britt tried on this wrap dress. It actually didn't look horrible on her, but she was uncomfortable in it because it was girly and clingy. She also tried on a pair of overall shorts and a short skirt (all over her clothes, of course).
We ended up in the electronics area after wandering around the fabric and crafts sections (because Sarah had to decide what color yarn she wants her baby blanket to be), and Britt proceeded to set of the alarm on one of the digital cameras..it was really annoying! And it started going off again after one of the Wal-Mart workers turned it off...and nobody was around it. And we ran into Jess who was running errands for her mom and was in the battery section grabbing some batteries for her camera.
We also wandered around looking at random stuff for Sarah's apartment (but we didn't really find anything good). After that, we moved to the shoes. That was -freaking amazing-!!! I hope that I can check out the video that Megan took of Britt trying to walk in high heels! And after the shoes, we wandered down the main isle towards the food section, and we found a rack of clearanced lingerie. So we all grabbed one and hung them around our necks and took a group picture. That was great!
Then we wandered through the bras and stuff, and Britt tried on a D ( we had to stuff it with some stuff to make it look right). Then we were trying on the old lady hats (again)...by this time, it was already 11. So we decided to call it a night and we left...after Britt petted some family members that were chilling out in the isle (bags of onions ;p).
Overall, I would say that tonight was a histerical evening. When Britt was trying to walk in those shoes, she had us all in tears. I never thought I would have that much fun just walking aimlessly through the store and be able to walk out without buying anything ( which almost didn't happen, but I put the stuff back and decided to get it the next time I was there). I hope we can have many more of these nights. :)

Change of plans
Well, we didn't get to venture out to Wal-Mart last night because Sarah had too much stuff to take care of, so it looks like we'll be going to the mall on Saturday when she comes back into town. I'm okay with that...I have to pick up a birthday present for Christa, anyways. I'm also planning on looking for a couple of new shirts and maybe some new pants (and possibly something to wear for my interview on Monday...but we'll see how things go).
I really hope that I have a job next week! I feel like I'm not getting anything done, and maybe that feeling would change if I had a little bit of structure in my day (such as having a work schedule). But mostly I just want to have money again. I got my oil changed, but I think my car is going to need new tires, and those are pretty expensive. Mom said that she and Dad are going to get me at least 2 new ones for my birthday (because they are expensive and they don't want me to have to replace them all by myself). I told Mom that I could buy the other ones when they get those, that way they will all get replaced at the same time...and then hopefully my car will run a little smoother and get better gas mileage. :)
I don't know, but it seems like I've been putting a lot of money into my car lately. I don't know if it's just reached the time in it's life where everything starts to go wrong and fall apart, but I'm really not liking it. Hopefully the next thing that goes wrong will be relatively inexpensive to fix, but that's not usually how my luck works.

Fun day
I woke up around 11:30 this morning to get myself ready. I know that's not early, but I went to bed kinda late last night. I then headed over to Jake's house to accompany him while he took his mom to the doctor's office to get her stitches removed. After that was all over, we stopped at Happy Daz to grab some food, because none of us had bothered to eat breakfast or lunch before we left. After we got back to their house, I helped Jake get his mom and all of her stuff back into the house. I had to juggle my stuff, plus Jake's and his mom's stuff...that was fun. It took me a couple of trips to get everything in, which is weird because we didn't really bring a lot with us.
After I got her all situated, I ran home and got ready for swimming, and I headed to the pool to meet up with Sarah. The water felt really good for the first 20 or so minutes I was in there, but then it started to get windy outside and the water started to get cold. So Sarah decided she was going to get out. I wanted to swim for a little while longer, so I went over to the shallow end. And it was surprisingly warm over there. So, I told Sarah and she hopped back in the pool. It stayed nice for another 30 minutes, and then it got cold again, so we decided to get out.
We layed on our towels for about 10-20 minutes to get dried off, and then we each headed to our respective homes. She's supposed to give me a call when she gets home from her concert thingy, and then we might go wander around Wal-Mart and she can show me what color yarn she wants me to use to make her baby blanket. If she ever calls me, it should be a pretty fun time. :)

Interview
Well, I got woken up this morning 10 minutes before my alarm clock was supposed to go off. It was a person from Staffmark and she was asking me about the cell number that I gave for my supervisor on my application. About half an hour later, I called in to the Comfort Inn and talked to the manager. I have an interview on Monday at 1 (which is the same day of the week/time as my other interview-weird, huh?). So, we'll see what comes of that. Hopefully it results in a job...like sometime next week.
Today I hung out with Britt and Kate and we spent about 20-30 minutes in the video store trying to pick out a movie to watch. And since it was a movie Kate had already seen, she decided to leave about half an hour before it was over so she could chill before heading to bed (yay early mornings). After the movie was over, Britt and I watched a couple of episodes of "Futurama." That's an..interesting..show, to say the least. I've seen episodes before, but I think they just keep getting weirder as they go. But it was still pretty fun.
Tomorrow I have to go with Jake to take his mom to get her stitches out. And afterwards, I'm supposed to meet up with Sarah to go swimming...provided it doesn't take too long at the doctor's office. And then we might wander around Wal-Mart later, if we have time. :)

I've been thinking...
You know, maybe I don't -want- to have a summer job. I mean, I sent in an application and a resume to the temp agency, and I picked up one other resume, but that's all I've done. I've been out of school for about 2 weeks now, and I think I'm enjoying the break from work AND school. Money is nice, but it seems like all I have done this past year is work and go to school, so having time to sit around and do nothing is really appealing right now. But, I owe my parents $100 next month for "car insurance" (which translates into: money being put into an account to save up for my wedding...thanks Dad!), so I really need to have a job so that I have that money.
I guess I just really haven't been motivated to do anything lately. I mean, I could have spent the last 2 weeks trying to make a dent in my book list, but I haven't done that. I could be going to the Y every day or so and working out, but I'm not. I could be cleaning my room and getting the animal cages cleaned out and organized, but I haven't done that, either (though I have kinda cleaned my room a couple of times when people were coming over). It's 2 weeks into summer, and I haven't done much of anything yet.
I just wish that I felt like I was doing -something- that would benefit me or someone else in the long run, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Sure, it's fun hanging out with friends, especially since I haven't seen them a whole lot in the past year. But sometimes hanging out calls for having money, which I don't have a lot of right now...so I'm kinda limited as to what I can/can't do, which sucks. But, hopefully something will come along and I won't be poor anymore. :)

Still nothing
I called the woman that I spoke with for my interview today, and I asked her if she had received my resume and everything. She said that she had, and that they were still checking around and that I would be notified if they found anything. It's been a week since I was in there and they haven't found anything yet. I'm wondering if they ever will? Maybe I should do some more searching on my own instead of waiting around to see if they will have anything for me.
I don't really know where to look, though. I only want to work part-time, so I would like to find a place that won't make me work 38 1/2 hours and call that "part-time." I think I would be okay with working in an office setting, because that's what I'm used to, but I don't really know any places around here that would be hiring.
It's just so frustrating. I'm sorry that I can't work 40 hours a week because I have a life and my Mom may need me to help out every now and then. There has to be -something- out there...I really need a summer job...I can't live off of what I've got in the bank for the next 3 months! There are things that I would like to have, but I can't afford them because I need to fix my car. I hate not having money!

Happy Father's Day
I had no idea what to get my Dad...so Jake and I went to Lima and wandered around Hallmark and the mall. He found a couple of books and a couple of CDs for his dad, and I got Dad "Ghost Rider." I had no idea it was already out on DVD, and I knew he hadn't gone out and bought it for himself yet, so I picked it up. I wish he would stop spending money on himself because that never leaves anything for anyone else to get him! Oh well.
I still haven't heard back from Staffmark (temp agency) about a job, so I don't know if they're ever going to call me back. It's been pretty nice having some time off, but I'm anxious to get back to work and start earning some money. Thankfully I still have one more paycheck coming from the Advising Office, even though it won't be a big one. I probably should go out and do some searching on my own to see if I can find any jobs, but I really don't feel like it. The lady said that there was one job that might work for me, and from what she said, it sounded like it would be decent, but she still hasn't called me or e-mailed me or anything. Tomorrow will make a week since I went in there for my interview, and I didn't expect it to take that long.

So, the list hasn't changed too much in the last year or so, but I have gotten thru all of the Harry Potter books (except for the new one, of course), and I added two more books to the list. I'm currently working on one book, and I plan on getting that and the one that follows it done this summer, but we'll see how that goes.

Baby blanket
I'm currently working on a baby blanket that I have already re-done about 3 times (this would be the 4th). It's coming along nicely and I really like how it's turning out..I just hope that I have enough yarn to finish it this time because nobody carries that yarn anymore. I started working on it Monday and I'm already about 1/3-1/2 of the way finished with it. That's got to be a record for me. It usually takes me a couple of months to finish a baby blanket, but it looks like I'l be able to knock this one out in a couple of weeks. It will definately be a relief to have it finished, but I really don't know what my next project will be. True, I do have Jake's blanket to work on, but that's going to take a while to finish, and I tend to get "burnt out" on something if I work on it too much/too often. So this blanket's giving me a much-needed break. And hopefully after I finish it, I will be able to make some more progress on Jake's.
In other news. I still haven't heard anything back from the temp agency about any prospective jobs. The lady had mentioned one that was part-time and it sounded really nice, but she wasn't sure if they still needed anyone. I'm hoping that I hear back from them today or tomorrow, and that I can start next week (if the job's still open). It has been nice to have the week off (for the most part) and be able to enjoy a break, but I'm ready to get back to work and start earning some money. Especially now that I have to take my car in for an oil change and a tune up, and that's not going to be cheap.

Summer job
Well, I had my interview with the temp agency yesterday, and that took all of like 15 minutes. Basically all they needed me to do was sign a few things and they had a few interview questions to ask me. I was expecting it to take at least half an hour, so I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at my cell phone and it was only 1:15.
But, I had to submit a resume for them to send out to a prospective job. It's been pretty much since high school since I've had to write up one of those...I had forgotten how much I dislike doing it. It wasn't very long, and I tried to gear it towards the type of job I was applying for, but that didn't allow for a very long resume at all. So, I beefed it up with some extracurricular activities from high school and such, and it's still not even a page long. But, it's done and I've already sent it in, so hopefully I don't have to worry about it anymore.
In some unrelated news. I have restarted a baby blanket that I have already redone about 2-3 times already. I actually finished it the last time I redid it, but I just wasn't satisfied with how it turned out. That and I still had about half a skein of yarn left over and that's just way too much yarn not to use (especially when it's kinda expensive stuff). So, I went out and bought a larger hook and I took it apart yesterday and started it over. It's coming along nicely and I've already decided that I won't be taking it apart anymore, so this is the last time, for sure. I just hope that it looks okay when it's done.

Good day
According to my "Weather Channel" pop-up, it's supposed to be a really nice day today. A high of 80 degrees and sunny...a good day for swimming. :) And that is exactly what I plan on doing. Afterwards, I have a college graduation party to attend at 5. I probably should get my cousin a card, but I don't really have any money to put in there right now because I'm attempting to get some saved up, but I can go and congratulate her, at least.
Last night, Brittany and I went out to the Rock Garden to try and have a fire up on the Temple, but the wood just wouldn't catch, so we ended up sitting up there for about half an hour after the failed fire attempt and just talked in the darkness (it wasn't completely dark because there are street lights in the vicinity). After about 30 minutes, though, it started to get cold, so we headed back to my house. We then proceeded to sit on my front steps and pet "Buddy" (the cat that lives outside of my house) for another 20-30 minutes. All-in-all, it was a pretty fun night, even though we didn't really have much to do.

Slow day
Well, I've been at work for almost 2 hours now, and it hasn't been extremely busy...except for the 3 people that just called relatively all at the same time. Other than that, it's been pretty slow. So I have a feeling that today is going to drag by. But, I brought a book to read, so at least I'll have something to do.
I went and picked up my ring from the jewelers yesterday, and it's been fixed, for now. Jake said that if the gem pops out one more time before his birthday (in August), he's going to take it back and get his money back. I really hope that doesn't happen because I really like the ring, but I understand that he's frustrated about it. I think I would be, too, if I had bought it. I also picked up a box of Godiva chocolates for my graduating co-worker. I hope she likes chocolate, and I'm sure she does.
So, I'm hoping that I don't have to start working somewhere right away next week because I think it would be nice to have a week of break and not have to wake up early to be anywhere. It would be a nice change from the schedule that I'm used to. But, if I wait too long to get a job, it's going to be a month before I get paid, and that's not going to be fun. So, a week of break time would be fantastic, but I would settle for a couple of days. :) One of my parents' friends is looking for people to help him paint at his house(s), so I may look into that for some extra spending money, but we'll see what Monday brings.

A day off
I don't know what I'm going to do with myself tomorrow...I have the whole day off and not really anything to do. My Mom wants me to help her out with some project thing, so I may do that for a little while tomorrow, but otherwise, I'm free. So, if anyone wants to do something, just give me a call. :)
Well, my last final was yesterday, so I'm going to attempt to sell that book back and hopefully get -something- out of it. But, it's not very likely that I'll get much considering that I bought it used. Either way, I'll still have at least a little bit more money than I did when I woke up this morning. ;p

It figures
Pretty much as soon as I decided that I was going to do a little job hunting on my own, I get a call from the temp agency. I have an interview scheduled with them on Monday at 1. In the meantime, I plan on turning in an application that I picked up yesterday and see which one I hear back from first. I'm somewhat worried about not yet having a summer job lined up, because after this week, I'm not working in the Advising office until Fall quarter, so it would be nice to have something to start next week, but that's probably not going to happen. I'll still have one more Advising paycheck to look forward to...but I have a feeling that I'll probably end up spending more money if I'm not working/going to school all the time. ;p
I'm really nervous about my Anthropology final tonight. I didn't study at all before today, and the test is in like 2 hours. I should have planned better and studied more, but I procrastinated, and my grade is most likely going to reflect that. But, when I was studying earlier, I discovered that I do know more of the material than I had thought, so that's always a good thing. We'll see if it's enough to get me a B on the test or not. I'll have an hour in between work and the final to cram, so that should help a little, hopefully.
Today has been going by pretty quickly, which is both good and bad. I'm somewhat anxious to get the final over with and be done for the summer, but I'm not really ready for it yet. Yay for mixed feelings! Oh well. At least I have an "End-of-the-year" party to look forward to this week. :) And the outdoor pool is opened, so maybe I'll have time to get out there when the weather is actually nice (if that ever happens).
For some slightly depressing news. I was helping take care of a kitten that we found out at Jake's house. The poor thing was only a couple of days old (if that) and, despite all of Jake's mom and sister's efforts, it did not survive the night. I have a feeling that it was abandoned by it's mother for a reason, but at least we made it's last day comfortable.

The weekend
Well, it's been a pretty good weekend, aside from all of the rain. I went to Lima on Friday to get the prong tightened on my ring (which won't be ready to pick up until Thursday), and I did a little shopping. I got a couple of cute shirts and a pair of cute khaki capris (that actually fit me like capris ;p). Yesterday, I was supposed to go out to eat and then go swimming with a couple of my friends, but it ended up raining most of the afternoon, and we didn't have time before they went to work to swim. So we went out to Pizza Hut and ordered bread sticks. :)
Today we actually got to eat out at the InBetween in Botkins, and it took them almost an hour to bring us our food (which is a bunch of BS considering all we ordered was wings and fries-both of which are on the appetizers menu). After we swam, we headed out to Max's West (which used to be the Dairy King) and got some icecream. :D
When I came home, I got on the computer for about 30-ish minutes, and then decided that it was time for a nap, and I slept for about an hour and a half...it was nice. Jake came over and we watched part of "Over the Hedge" and then decided to go on a walk. Well, pretty much as soon as I said "walk," it started to thunder...so we decided to walk around Wal-Mart instead.
Hopefully tomorrow I'm going to head out to the Neil Armstrong Museum and see if they're still hiring for summer help, and if they are, put in an application (or at least pick one up). I still haven't heard back from Staffmark (the temp agency), so I figured it wouldn't hurt to do some looking around on my own. Depending on what the Museum is looking for, it could turn out to be a decent summer job (maybe). Either way, I need to get the "ball rolling," so-to-speak, because after this coming week, I won't be working in the Advising Office until Fall quarter, so I need to find something soon.
I really hope that I can do all of the fun stuff that I'm planning this summer, but it all depends on whether I have the funds to do so, and if I can get the time off. If I get the job at the Museum, I'm hoping that it's just a part-time thing, so that I can be available if Mom needs me for anything, and plus, I'll have more time to hang out if I'm not always working, and I definately don't want that!
