A few weeks left

This is the 8th week of the quarter and I wish that I could skip the next 2 or 3 weeks. It looks like my Dad's going to be in the hospital until Thursday, maybe longer. And originally, we thought he'd be home by Tuesday, but I guess the doctors aren't ready to release him yet. I just wish that he and Mom could come home and that things could return to at least a semi-normal state. It has been a very long week and I'm just ready to have someone relieve me of some of the responsibilities that I've had to shoulder.

I really haven't been sleeping well, and it's probably related to the stress, and the fact that I have to get up about an hour earlier than usual every day so that I can get my brothers ready for school. I'm so thankful that my Uncle is staying with us, because I could not do this on my own. Last Thursday, the boys had a 3-hour delay, meaning that they didn't have to be to school until 10:30 or so, instead of 7:30 (or whatever), and I had class at 9, so there's no way I could have gotten them to school and been to class in time.

So, I need to get caught up on sleep, but that's not going to happen tonight because I'll have to study for my exam tomorrow, unless I get some of it done today while I'm at work, which could happen. If I'm going to have to do this for another 3 or so days, I'm really going to need to work out a schedule that will allow me to get everything done during my day. I've had to make plenty of decisions to eliminate something that I wanted to get done, or just push it back until a later time, and it's mostly my school work that's suffering because of that. And I really need to get at least a B on this exam so that I can keep my B in the class, so I'll have to make time to study, which means cutting out other stuff. I just don't know how my Mom does it all!

This experience really helps me to understand why moms get a special day each year. And it makes me want to do something really nice for my Mom, which is why I went out and bought her flowers to plant in the "front yard," which I'll get around to doing eventually (maybe tomorrow or Wednesday). I wish I could have gotten more, but I got my car's AC fixed, and that'll pretty much wipe out my savings, so I can't really afford to buy extra things right now. But I can do other things that will show Mom that I care, and once she gets home, I may have time to do those things. ;p
