A Few Pros:
- They pay well (I'll probably be making around $8-9 an hour)
- Working there will look good on my resume
- The work load won't be overwhelming (mostly)
A Few Cons:
- I'm already working one job (roughly 20 hours a week)
- I actually plan on taking classes in the Fall quarter
- I think that the hours they would "need" me, I'm going to have class (but I have to check the schedule)
- Sure I'll be making more money, but I'll have less time for homework and chill time
But, the director/coordinator of the Learning Center sent me an e-mail the yesterday (after he read over the sample writing of mine that I submitted) and said that I have the job if I want it. I told him that I would really consider it, and that it may work out that I'll be able to work some hours in that "office" as well as the job I already have. Though, I think in one of the e-mails he sent me, he was trying to talk me into taking less hours in the Advising office because I would get paid more for my time in the Learning Center and it looks good on a resume...I thought that was interesting. And I told him that I was not planning on quitting my job in Advising, just in case the tutoring thing doesn't work out for me.
I'm still not sure if I'll have the time for that job, but I'll certainly try to get a least a few hours over there, if I can. I know that he needs help because he's losing quit a few people after this quarter, but I'm only one person and can only do so much.
