1st midterm of the quarter

Well, I finished up my 1st midterm of the quarter this morning around 11:30 (it took me over an hour to do it). I don't think that I did very well, but at least I've learned what to expect for the next 2 and hopefully the 3 points of extra credit that I'll have by the end of the quarter will make some difference.

Yesterday was such a nice day and I was out enjoying it when I should have been studying my ass off to try and understand the material for the midterm. I just couldn't make myself do it. The last couple of nice days we've had, I've been stuck inside all day and I didn't want that to happen this time...so I sacrificed a decent midterm grade for a few hours in the sun. It seemed like a pretty fair trade to me. ;p

I finally got a gift for Sophie (my goddaughter) yesterday. I stopped at "Gifts of Joy" and browsed around for a while before I decided on a cute little stuffed lamb that is looking up adoringly at, I'm guessing, whoever is holding it (?); the little lamb has a little cloth book that has a little poem/prayer for the little child. It's really cute and it wasn't that expensive, which is what surprised me. I also picked her up a "Little Golden Book" children's Bible because I remember reading the "Little Golden Books" when I was younger and I just thought it was so cool that they had a Bible! Now all I need to do before Sunday is pick up a gift bag and maybe a card to stick in with the gifts. I can take care of all of that tomorrow before I have to start getting ready for the orchestra.

I found out today that the title of the show is "Rite of Spring." I'm pretty excited about it, even tho I'm not sure what songs they'll be playing. I've never been to an event like this and I'm excited to see what it's all about. I hope it's a good show but, even if it's not, I didn't actually pay for the tickets, so I guess all I'll have lost is the time. But, I think it'll be good. :)

"Rite of Spring" - Igor Stravinsky. It's a suite orignally scored for a ballet, kinda modern sounding.
