My car...

Tomorrow, I'm going to have to fork over somewhere between $300-$350 to get my radiator replaced. About half of that amount is what they're going to charge me for labor to put the damn thing in. One of my friend's dad was going to replace it for me, and I would have only had to buy the part(s), but he's going to be on vacation this week/weekend, and so he won't be able to do it. And it definately needs to be done soon. So I asked Mom to call Swaney's and ask them how much they would charge to replace it...and it came out to be about double what I was expecting to have to pay for only just the radiator. But, like I said, it needs to be done, and at least I can trust (hopefully) that it will be done right.

I also want to get the AC fixed in my car. Maybe while I've got it there, I can ask them to run a diagnostic on the AC system to see what's wrong so that they can give me an estimate for that, too? That's probably going to be pretty costly. I sometimes wonder if it would be any easier just to get another car. But my mom advised me not to do that because when you buy a used car, "you're just inheriting other people's problems." So, I just get to put money into this one and hope that it lasts long enough for me to get my money's worth from it.

Speaking of my car...I wanted to take a trip down to Florida for a week or so this summer, but my car definately won't make it that far in one trip (a total of about 2000 miles). So, I thought about renting a car to drive down there...but I think that they want people to be 21+ before they let them rent cars...so there goes that idea. Sure, I could wait until late August when Jake turns 21 and have him rent the car, and just give him the money, but I don't know that I'd wanna wait until that close to classes starting up again. So, it looks like I'll be waiting until next summer, after my birthday. But hey, it gives me a chance to save up some money for the trip...so there's a plus, I guess.
