Oh Happy Day!!!!

I was kinda dreading having to help my aunt pack up some of her stuff and all that jazz because I knew it probably was going to take a while, and everything was all coated in about 20 layers of dust because it hasn't been moved since the late 80's!! (I don't really think that's true, but if you'd seen all the dust, I'm sure you would have thought the same thing) So, even though my aunt offered to pay me, I was still dreading having to do it, but I got out of bed, got dressed, and headed over there anyways.
Like I said, there were about 20 layers of dust covering every single snowman in her collection, and, of course, that's what she wanted me to pack up. So, I quickly blew a few layers of dust off of everything before I wrapped it up (if it was breakable) and stuck it in a box...I only bothered with a few layers because I didn't have a dust rag, and it probably would have taken me twice as long to dust them completely. So, my lungs are probably a nice dusty grey color right about now, but that's ok because I think I'm gonna live.
We made pretty good progress today, considering the vast amount of shit that my aunt owns, and I guess next time we're gonna tackle what's in the attic...and that will involve me climbing in there and dragging her crap out, which will be fun...*stab* I've never been in the attic, but I always wanted to go in there when I was a kid...I don't know...maybe it was the mystery behind the idea or something. Anyways. So that's on the agenda for next time.
But anyways, she had me going thru boxes and doing kinda like a quick sweep, getting rid of what I -knew- was garbage, and tossing anything she might need to sort out into another box. That was pretty easy to do...if it looked old, I tossed it. I may have tossed a little more than I should have (I probably could have set aside some of the pens and stuff, but hey, she'll never miss them!!!). So, I got thru about 10 or so boxes, when she pointed out a shabby box full of her crafts stuff. Since the box was falling apart, I decided to move the crafts into a better box and toss out the other one. Well, actually only the top layer of stuff was craft stuff...underneath were some beach towels in a white mesh bag, which I recognized as being a Navy laundry bag. Before I noticed the bag, however, I noticed a little blanket that was in the box with the towels. I picked up the blanket because I knew exactly what it was...it was my baby comforter...my security blanket. When we first moved up here, I looked and looked for that thing, because I needed a little security, and I couldn't find the stupid thing. Well, now I know why...it had been left at Grandma and Grandpa's house with that mesh bag of beach towels...but I'm still not sure how or why. But that's not important because I've got my blanket back!!! :) After 5+ years, I never imagined that I'd see it again...but I have it now! Sure, it's all faded, but hey, it's like 18 or so years old. It makes me happy! :)
So, yay. There's my good news for the month. Well, I suppose the fact that yesterday was Jake's and my 5-month anniversary is good news, too. But I heart my baby blanket!
