5th week of the quarter

So, it's about half-way through this quarter, which means that it's time for some midterms...oh joy, oh rapture! (NOT!!!)

I had my first midterm of the quarter today in my Comm 105 (aka: public speaking) class. Overall, I don't think it was too bad, though I probably should have started studying for it before this weekend, because, let's face it, 10 chapters is a lot to get through in 3-4 days. Maybe next time I'll remember that and save myself an overload session.

I have a midterm in Chem 101 next Tuesday (I believe). I've done well on the quizes (which are group quizes, by the way, which is really weird for me) and the labs (mostly) so far, but a test is different from those (if only slightly), and it's worth a bigger portion of my overall grade. So, I do plan on studying for this one at least by the weekend, and with all of the nifty stuff (practice quizes and exercises) that the prof put on Carmen, that shouldn't be too difficult.

Next Tuesday, we're doing something in Comm that's called an "impromptu speech," which is supposed to require little to no advanced preparation, so we'll see how well that goes. I'm a little nervous about it because I'm not really sure what we'll be doing, but the prof's supposed to explain it on Thursday, so maybe I'll understand by then?

Oh yeah, and last night, when I should have been home studying for my midterm, I was at Wal-Mart picking up a money order for my Mom when the damn machine decided that it wanted to start eating the paper...I was so pissed! It took them about half an hour to get the machine up and running again, which means that I lost about 40-50 minutes of study time (including the drive there and the drive home). What was supposed to be a "quick errand" turned into my worst Wal-Mart trip ever!
