I just realized that next Wednesday, my Mom and Dad will be heading down to Columbus for my Dad's surgery. They'll both be down there until the following Monday or Tuesday. So, this weekend, Jake and I are taking them out for a Mother's Day/getting Dad out before his surgery dinner. I told Jake that he can invite his parents to come along and we can celebrate Mother's Day with them, and take his Dad out for his birthday or something. I think we're going to Texas Roadhouse, which I've never been to, so hopefully it's good. Combining all of the celebrations is probably going to work out better than waiting until my Dad gets better to take our Mom's out. And it'll be nice to get our parents together. I mean, the only time they've really talked was at my Grandpa's viewing, and that meeting wasn't exactly under the best of circumstances.
I just can't believe that the surgery's coming up that quickly. And they're going to be gone for about 5 or so days, and I've got to look after my brothers. Sure, my Dad's uncle is coming to stay with us while they're gone, but I'm still going to have a lot of stuff to deal with, even with his help. Hopefully I can handle all of the responsibility. And it's not going to get much better when they get back, because Mom's going to be caring for Dad, so I'll still be helping out around the house. It's not looking like I'll be having an abundance of free time after next week. But, the surgery has to be done, and if I can't handle it, all I have to do is ask for help, and I know several people who have already offered to give me a hand if I need it.
You should find out where in the hospital they're going to be so I can go visit them :D
