When I tried to do a good thing yesterday, it turned around and bit me on the ass!! I went to the fairgrounds and gave blood. I got through everything...the being stuck with a needle and having to open and close my hand to pump the blood out of me faster...and even the pulling out of the needle...I was completely fine. Well, I did feel a little dizzy when I was trying to read the paper they got me, but I put the paper done and I was fine. I ate some chocolate chip cookies, and I was sitting down talking to Sarah, and there was a lull in the conversation, and I felt the dizziness coming on, and I knew I was gonna pass out, but I couldn't tell anyone because I wouldn't have had time. So, I pass out, and the next thing I know, there are two strange people hovering over me and the lady is saying "Maggie, Maggie" and I'm just like in a daze. Then they start making me talk and they make me drink a Pepsi, and that kinda hurt my stomach. So, just when I thought I was feeling better, I'd get a stomach ache or get dizzy again, and they would make me lie down.
I was talking to Sarah, when I was actually able to talk, and she said that I just kinda fell over and started to twitch. And she left me a voicemail on my cell asking me to have Mom call her...she was wondering if I'd had a seizure, because she said that's what it'd looked like...Mom said it was just one of my little "quirks"... I pass out and twitch sometimes when I see blood...yay me.
So anyways, I called Mom and she came and got me. When I got home, I barely had time to throw myself on the couch and kick of my flip-flops before I passed out yet again. So, I spent all of my afternoon and part of my evening on the couch...and it killed my stomach for me to walk to the bathroom, which I had needed since before I gave blood. So, when I woke up the first time after I fell on the couch, I decided that I should go there, cuz I was feeling fine when I was lying down...but when I stood up, I got a little dizzy again. I decided that I'd have to put up with the dizzy.
I just don't know why this happened like this. I've never passed out right after giving blood. The first time, I don't think I passed out at all, and the second time, I passed out like 4 or 5 hours later, but I never had a stomach ache. It was really weird. And, I think this experience has turned me off from donating blood for a while. We'll see.
Yeah, at least I was able to stay conscious. But other than that, my experience wasn't much better.
