I truly have a lot to be thankful for this year. Being able to spend the holidays with family and friends; spending time with Jakey; my cats; my apartment; my job and coworkers; a warm, comfy bed...the list is pretty long.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving this year! Mine was pretty good, but the 4-day weekend wasn't long enough (it never is though!). Now I'm looking forward to our Winter break!

It's almost here!
It's almost my 4-day weekend! I'm so excited for Thanksgiving! Not looking forward to all of the driving I'll be doing on Thursday and Saturday, but I am looking forward to hanging out with family and eating good food. We'll be combining Thanksgiving and Christmas on Saturday for my mom's family, so that will be interesting. But, it means that we get Christmas cookies early, so it won't be all bad! ;p

Sad Day :(
Last night I brought a kitten home from the farm (Jake's family farm) to try and nurse him back to health. They had been calling him Frankenkitty because he had drowned and Jake's mom and cousin were able to bring him back to life. I thought that he seemed to have been improving last night while I was feeding him some kitten formula, but when I got up this morning, he was gone. Unfortunately, he could not fight this infection/cold/whatever. He was pretty weak when we found him yesterday, so I spent yesterday evening making him comfortable and trying to keep him warm. I'm glad that I was able to give him a warm, dry spot to spend his last night in.
R.I.P. Franky! Love you!

Hanging out...
Down the street...The same old.. Wait, that's not where I was going with this post, but that theme song just popped into my head. :)
Anyways. I was hanging out with a couple of friends earlier and we had dinner at El Azteca and then browsed around Walmart for a bit. I had forgotten how much fun wasting time could be! It seems like I'm always rushing around and trying to "get stuff done" these days. It was nice to be able to just dick around and goof off for a bit. I should try to do that more often!

Jingle bells, jingle bells...
I've been listening to Christmas music at work for the past 2 1/2-3 weeks and it's really getting me in the mood for Christmas! I've already got some presents bought and wrapped! I know that people are driven crazy by people like me because they think that we're "rushing" the holiday or something. Actually, I'm not trying to rush anything. I just happen to have a huge list of people to find gifts for and I like to start that early so that I don't go broke trying to get it all done 2-3 weeks before Christmas.
I used to look forward to Thanksgiving, but this year it's going to be weird. My Mom's family is having a combined Thanksgiving/Christmas celebration this year. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. Not having the Elliott Family Christmas on Christmas Eve is going to take away some of the "magic" and excitement of the holiday for me. We always had the Elliott Christmas on Christmas Eve. I mean, my Mom is having dinner at her house for us still, but it just won't be the same. But, maybe we'll be able to start a new family tradition now?

Halloween Costumes
So, I decided to make Jake's and my costumes this year because it was easier than trying to find the items in stores. So, we went as Gnomeo and Juliet. I made my vest, skirt & hat along with Jake's vest, G belt buckle & gold vest clip & his hat. I sewed everything by hand because I don't own a sewing machine. Up close, I think they looks a little "juvenile" but overall I think they turned out well.
Sorry for the quality of the pic (it was taken with a cell and the room was kinda dark), but you can get the general idea.
