I had my first Math test today (up until now, we've only had quizes) and it was comprehensive...so I had to remember everything that we've covered so far this quarter. And more awesome news (which I already knew but was reminded of today)...both of the tests and the final are comprehensive...so it gets worse as I go along. I hate comprehensive tests! Thankfully I'll possibly only have the Math final and one other final that I have to worry about this quarter, but I also have 2 big papers due towards the end of the quarter, so I'm going to have to learn how to budget my time.
So, we've got a couple of weeks before Valentine's Day, and I don't really know for sure what I'm gonna get Jake. I placed a bid on this cool looking ring on Ebay, and I won it, but I'm hoping to be able to keep that until our 1-year anniversary. And Jake said that I'm not allowed to get him candy, which I may do anyways, but only a little, so I can't really depend on that. And, for some strange reason, he doesn't like silky boxers...so I can't even get the funny V-Day boxers for him...unless they aren't silky...I'll have to see if I can find any that I like. :)
Sarah's birthday is on Friday, and I got her a really awesome gift! I think it's great, and I hope that she likes it, too! :) I was gonna get her a man [they have chocolate men for V-Day, but I think they were all gone when I went to find them :(]...I thought that would be funny, but I was denied.

OMG Shoes! lol
So, the title has nothing to do with the blog...I just thought it would be funny to put that there. ;p
Anyways. This week (technically starting Wednesday, but whatever) is the 5th week of this quarter. I can't believe that we're almost halfway thru Winter quarter...that's awesome! I'm just not looking forward to the 2 big papers I've got due at the end...but I think I'll only have to take 2 finals, which is great!
Speaking of finals. Jake's and my 1 year anniversary is going to be on the Tuesday of finals week...so, I don't know what we're gonna do that day. With any luck, we'll both be done that day by late afternoon and there won't be an issue (the only thing that could f that up is if I have to work until like 5-5:30, which is possible, I'm sure...unless I say that I want that day off?...hmm, I'll have to think about that ;p). That's one thing that sucks about finals week...the schedule is different from all the other weeks in the quarter and that means that I don't know when I'll be working, which is always nice. But, maybe the schedule for that week will get made up soon and I'll know where I stand? :)
I have an exam in my Psych class next Monday and I haven't really read any of the chapters (and there are 5 that'll be covered on the test...*stab*) and I haven't made note cards of the key words and such. I'm just really behind in that class. The only thing I've gotten a start on is the paper that's due at the end...and even then, I've only printed off the experiments that I'm planning on writing the paper about...I haven't even read that yet. And we're supposed to go to the Writing Center to get help with it...so I really can't wait until the last minute with this one...damn.
Speaking of reading, I'd better get back to Little Women so that I can get my reading assignment done and have time to work on my little 2-page paper before tomorrow. ;p

Yay
Last night, I got my reading done for my English class tomorrow...2 days ahead! But I really need to be studying for my Math quiz today...like, right now. But I don't feel like pulling my books out. There are a few classes (actually, probably only one) that I dont mind doing the work for, because it's pretty interesting, and that's my English class, because we get to read classic children's literature, and I find it pretty interesting (tho some other members of my class would most likely disagree, at least with the book we're reading right now). But when it comes to things for my other class, like studying for Math, or even doing my homework for that class...reading the chapters for my Psych class, or working on stuff for my Art Ed class (which isn't as bad as I was thinking it might be, but I still can't find motivation to do the stuff for it), I can't/won't do it until almost the last possible minute. I really don't like procrastinating because it makes me so stressed out sometimes (like when I've got a big paper due in a week and I haven't started it yet), and I really don't like the stress...but, I usually get pretty good grades, whether I take my time on it and start it 3 weeks in advance, or start it 2 nights before it's due. But I promised myself that I was going to try to stay on top of things this quarter, and with 4 classes, I really should, so I'll keep trying and h0pefully not fall too far behind in my other classes.
I'm planning on making Jake watch "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" sometime this weekend, and I've never seen it, and I was wondering what you guys thought of it (if you've seen it, of course)? I've already talked to one person, and she said that it was pretty good, in her opinion, and I just hope that she's right and that I'll like it.

Well...
At the beginning of this quarter, I told myself that I was going to try and be better about this getting everything done on time and that I was going to try and cut back on the slacking and procrastinating....but, it doesn't seem like I'm doing a very good job with that. As of right now, I've still got about 50+ pages of reading to do for my reading assignment for English, not to mention the 2-page essay/paper/thingy that I should do for tomorrow because I know I won't have time to do one for Thursday. And I'm sitting here typing up a blog...way to go.
There is so much stuff that I would like to do, or have the time for, but it's just not very realistic at this point. With 4 classes (18 credit hours) and working 20 hours, I just don't have time for a whole lot of fun anymore. I have no idea how I'm going to work all of this out next quarter when I have to find 12 hours a week to do my field experience. That'll be fun, I'm sure.
The weekend before finals, I'll have some peace and quiet (hopefully), so that I can study for my tests (not that I will) because I'm supposed to cat-sit for my aunt (the same little kitty that stayed with me for like 3-ish months). She's going out of town for like 4 days, and she wants me to take care of Callie while she's gone, which means that I can take my crap over to her house and have some quiet time, unless Callie decides that she wants to interrupt me, which is totally possible. And, like I said, I don't know that I'll use all of that quiet time wisely, anyways...I'll probably be watching lots of TV those 4 or so days. :)

This was too awesome not to post!!
Words Women Use:
1.) FINE: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
2.) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five Minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
3.) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
4.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
5.) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)
6.) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.
8.) Whatever: Is a women's way of saying F@!K YOU!
9.) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "what's wrong", for the woman's response refer to # 3.
Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology. Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they know its true.

I don't like it
I just read Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" and I definately don't like his version. I'm much more fond of Disney's version! I mean, the story was interesting, but it didn't really have a happy ending, and that's what I've come to expect from "The Little Mermaid," courtesy of Walt Disney. So yeah, I don't know that I'll be reading that version again..ever.
Oh yeah, and I'm -so- glad that we've got Monday off for Martin Luther King Day...because I'll definately need that day to get my math homework done for Tuesday...yay procrastination!

Not another one!
I'm getting really tired of math quizes and tests! Actually, I'm getting really tired of classes, in general. Maybe things would be easier if I wasn't working as well as going to school, but I'm making easy money and I don't want to lose that and go back to always being poor. I'm taking 18 credit hours this quarter, plus working 20 hours a week, and I'm finding that it may be difficult to squeeze everything into my schedule...unless I'm really efficient with my time and, let's face it, I don't know that I ever will be...so, I'm not sure how things are going to turn out this quarter. I also want to be able to have a social life...you know, go see a movie once in a while...be able to have dinner with Jake on Valentine's Day (which is on a Wednesday)...maybe not even go out, but just hang out, see my friends.
I suppose I -could- make up a weekly schedule for myself and that it might make things easier, but I'm pretty sure that would drive me into insanity, having to do the same thing day after day, week after week...oh yeah, I'd go nuts!
I'm going to start crocheting with Jake's mom and sister every Wednesday again this quarter, and hopefully that'll help me to relax a little and give me something to keep my mind off school. I enjoy crocheting because I am doing a project, but it doesn't have any specific "due date" and I don't have to worry about getting it done in a certain amount of time...I can take as long as I want with it, and that's nice.
So, I really should be studying for my math quiz right now. I have about 2 hours before I have to take it and I haven't studied at all. At the very least, it would probably be a good idea to look over my notes, considering we'll probably have to be able to pull a definition out of our asses for one of the questions...yay. But, even as I say this, I really don't have any intention of pulling my stuff out of my backpack. ;p The closest I've gotten was pulling my Pop-Tart out. Well...I guess I'll go look things over now, even though there are probably a million better ways to spend my time. *sigh*

Weasel update
I took Bandit to Doc Brown today and had him checked out. I think his only problem is that he's got fleas, which Doc Brown gave me some "Advantage" (or whatever) stuff for, and hopefully that'll take care of that problem. I think that Bandit looks really thin to me because he's scratched a lot of his fur off, and his coat's not as poofy anymore. So maybe if we get rid of all the fleas, he'll get his fur back and look like my normal little hellion weasel. :)
So, I survived my first Monday of the quarter. They're going to be very similar to my Wednesdays...at least for this week. Who knows what'll happen next week?!?! In my English class, we have to write a 2-page little thingy on readings we're doing in class...unfortunately, we have to write about readings we haven't gone over yet. But, there is a plus to it, I guess...we can choose to turn in our papers either on Tuesday of that week or on Thursday...so there is a little leeway, which is always nice. I went ahead and got mine done for this week so that I can figure out what she's going to want from us in these writings (because she said she'll drop the lowest grade(s), which is awesome, and if I suck on this first one, I don't really have to worry about it ;p).

Yay for movies!
Tonight, Jake, me, my brother and one of his friends all went and saw "Night at the Museum." It was a really good movie, in my opinion! I liked it a lot. There was an interesting twist, and I kinda think they could have done a little more with it maybe...I don't know...but I thought it was really good, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again in theatres, tho I'm most likely -not- going to be spending the money for me to go see it again. ;p
For some depressing news...I think Bandit (aka: Weasel, my ferrit) might be sick or something. He's looking really skinny and he doesn't have -as- much energy as he used to..but, then again, it could just be him getting "old" and there's nothing that I can do about that. Nevertheless, I know he's gotten sick in the past and I just hope that he's not getting sick again. He's about 5 years old now, and they're supposed to live to be around 10 or so, if they're luck, I guess...so, hopefully he'll reach somewhere around there. As for the skinny thing..maybe I'll go to Wal-Mart and buy him some canned cat food or something?...that should fatten him up! :) But anyways...I really hope he's okay.

Yay 2007
Well, it's 3 days into the new year, and I think that maybe things will be okay for the rest of this year. I didn't really make any resolutions for this year, because I never really stick to them, but I guess I kindof have a few, nonetheless.
1. I would like to try and concentrate on my school work a little more this year. I did really well last quarter, but I've got a bigger work load this quarter and I just hope I can figure out how to handle all of it, plus work and a boyfriend (and everything that entails).
2. I would like to be nicer to my family...I noticed that we argued and bickered a lot last year, and I just want us to get along a little better (I'm not asking for a miracle or anything! ;p).
3. I want to get out and visit my grandpa more often. His in a nursing home now, permanently, and he doesn't live that far from Jake's house (it's kindof out of my way when I'm heading over to Jake's, but that's okay) and I just hope that I can stop in for a little while a couple of days a week and just talk with him for even just a few minutes.
4. I'm going to try and get to the Y a couple of days a week because I -know- that it's going to be tough for me not to gain any weight this quarter while I'm stuck on campus for most of the day. So maybe I can find time during the weekend to work out for 30 or so minutes. And when the weather warms up, I want to start taking walks and stuff again.
5. I need to start taking better care of my animals. Sometimes they go 2 days without me checking their food and water, and with the bigger animals, that's not a good thing. The hamsters would be fine, but the ferret and bunny, not so much. And I definately need to get Weasel out of his cage more often..and maybe get him and George (the bunny) outside when it warms up (I want to get them little harnesses and walk them around outside ;p).
