Wow

It's weird to think that this will be my last blog for this year...the next time I post, it'll be 2007. I hope that everyone has a good time tonight, and has lots of fun! I still don't really know what my plans are...I may have to spend some time over with Jake's family; I may be able to visit the Plaughers; I may be able to be at my house when the ball drops...but, I don't know what's going on yet. And I tried to call Jake to see when we're supposed to go over to his grandpa's house tonight, but the line was busy...yay. So now I -still- don't know what's going on, not that I would if I actually did get to talk to him, because he never knows what's going on, anyways. ;p

So, anyways. I wish you all a Happy New Year and I hope that you all stay safe and have fun! :)

Shopping...YES!!!

I went to the Tuttle Mall with my family today...and since Jake and I drove up separately, we didn't spend a whole lot of time with them. ;p We did, however, get a free meal out of my parents (from Boston Market), and that was pretty good. And then I had to introduce Jake to one of my dad's cousins that met them at the mall. But, it was a pretty good trip. I bought myself a new pair of tennis shoes, which I've desperately been needing since mine have holes in the bottoms and are no longer even remotely water-proof. I also spent $37 on chocolates from Godiva...YUM..and I don't regret it! :) Oh yeah, and I got Mary (Jake's sister, in case you didn't know already) this cute little pirate outfit for the monkey that she got from Build-A-Bear Workshop...it's so adorable! I really wanted to make myself a penguin, but they didn't have any...bastards! *bitter* Anyways. I still have lots more Christmas money to spend, but I'm sure I can finish that off when I go to the Lima mall on Tuesday. I really need some more pants now because I only have basically 1 pair that I like to wear because my other ones decided that they felt like ripping...so yeah, they went in the trash. So, I'm definately needing to do some clothes shopping before classes start up again and I have nothing to wear, not that I have to impress anyone, but I do like having clothes and being able to wear them and all that.

Lucky Me...

Well, it looks like I'm still going to have this cold when Christmas comes around. I can't stand being sick, especially when it's around the holidays! But there really isn't much I can do about that. Thankfully the worst part right now is that my nose doesn't seem to want to stop running, and I've been sneezing a lot, but not as often as yesterday. So, if that's the worst of my symptoms, I think I can handle this. Maybe if I remember to take allergy meds every day, this thing will go away quicker? One can only hope. I'm sure that I'll still have this tomorrow, so I'll try not to breathe too much on anyone at the gift exchange tomorrow evening. ;p

In other news. Christmas is this coming Monday, and I'm still not done shopping for my parents, Jake's parents, and one of my friends from Florida. I mean, I have less than 5 days before I have to have gifts for 4 out of those 5 people (because who knows when I'll actually get around to mailing my friend her gifts?!?!) and I still don't really know what I'm getting for my parents. When I started buying gifts in November, I thought I was doing really well, and getting ahead in my shopping, but apparently not. Oh well.

Oh yeah. I finished Harry Potter Book 5 today. I can't believe that Sirius died!!! That makes me so sad! Why couldn't she have killed off that evil Umbridge woman or something? Why'd she have to pick Sirius? I started reading Book 6, and I found the first chapter somewhat difficult to get thru...I don't know, I guess it wasn't very interesting for me. Hopefully the story picks up soon.

Well, today's going to be fabulous...

So, I start out my day this morning by being sick (mostly just my nose being stuffed up). Then, when I finally get to work, I'm going around and plugging in all the Christmas stuff my supervisor put up and I bump the midget fiber-optic tree and it falls over...breaking the tree-topper and a few other glass ornaments. The rest are fine, mostly because they were plastic, but there were a few glass survivors. So yeah, this is how my day started out...I can tell already that I'm going to have a great day....not. I should have just stayed in bed!

Work=Money

Supposedly when you work you're supposed to have money to buy things. Well, I guess I do buy things, but I never seem to have any left over for myself...at least, not lately. I really need to get my oil changed in my car, which takes money. And I want to get my hair cut because it's getting really long and kinda annoying, but that also takes money. And for the last couple of months, basically as soon as I got the money, I was out spending it on Christmas gifts for other people...and I'm still not done yet! Hopefully I'll be able to finish up with my next paycheck (this coming Friday) and still have something left over for me. I'm tired of being broke all the time and not being able to have lunch with my friends...it sucks and I hate it! So, with my next paycheck, I'm going to make it a point to set aside some money for myself (and I also need to make sure there's some money for gas the next week!) and hopefully get my oil change taken care of sometime before school starts up again. And I definately want to get my hair cut, but I guess I'll have to put that on the back burner for now. *shrugs*

Friday again.

It doesn't feel like Friday today. Maybe that's because I didn't work Monday or Tuesday, but I don't know. Hopefully I'll be able to get a bunch of shopping done this weekend because I'm pretty sure I'll have at least one gift exchange with friends next Friday, and I don't have gifts for everyone...so, I need to work on that.

I really don't like spending 8 hours cooped up in this office...it's really boring most of the time. Thankfully I bring Harry Potter along to keep me company...but I get distracted from reading a lot because my supervisor sits at a desk right behind me, her new husband works in this office now, and they talk a lot...and she's really loud. So, that tends to snap me back to reality...even tho I would be perfectly content just sitting here reading...cham them! ;p

I can't believe that Christmas is only a few weeks away! Like a week from next Monday...that's not long at all! And I feel like I still have so much to do, tho I think most of it is just hopefully sending out the packages to my Florida friends on time. But, if I know me, I'm sure they'll be "fashionably late"...probably arriving the week after Christmas. But oh well.

Work

I have about another 50 minutes of work today...and I really didn't want to come here this morning! I only work 4 hours...but tomorrow and Friday I work 8-hour shifts, which should be fun..not. But, I do get an hour long lunch break. :) Not that I'll actually have money to get lunch, but hey.

I'm also trying to figure out when we should all get together and have the Christmas gift exchange. It's looking like the Friday before Christmas. And Sarah said that maybe she could have it at her house, but my house is probably the back-up plan, as always, which is fine. And so we just need to find a time. So, if you have a preference, then let me or maybe Sarah know. If it's going to be a Friday, I vote for some time after about 5:30 because I get off work at 5 and I'll need about half an hour to get home and such. So, there's my input.

It's Friday!!!

I'm not done working today until 2:00, which sucks, but oh well, I guess. I'm going to try and visit my grandpa again today because he wasn't in his room yesterday when I went up there. And then I'm supposed to meet Onion at the mall to do some more Christmas shopping. Well, I don't know if she's actually coming yet, but I told her I'd give her a call.

I'm so glad that Autumn quarter is finally over! For as much as I thought I was struggling thru everything(all the reading I never seemed to have time for and all that) tho, it seems to have paid off because I got an A in all 3 of my classes...so, I'm not complaining. I'm hoping that next quarter won't be too bad. I don't have classes on Fridays, but I have a class that goes from 5:30-9:00 P.M. on Thursdays, so that may suck, unless the class is fun (it's an Art Education class, so I suppose it could be at least slightly enjoyable). And one of my co-workers has had that class and she said that the last half hour is "work time" and students can either stay or leave...but she had a different teacher, so hopefully it's the same with this one, too.

I have about 2 and a half hours of work left and I'm really bored! And I seem to be taking a bunch of phone calls from people who either have a lot of questions or just one or two complicated ones. Thank God my supervisor's here today! If I was all on my own I'd probably be having a nervous breakdown right about now! ;p I'm trying to read HP and I keep getting interrupted, whether by the phone ringing or one of the advisors walking thru the office and having to talk to everyone they run into. But, I did get thru a chapter...I'm on chapter 12 now (book 5). I'm trying to get thru this book and book 6, but I'm thinking it's gonna take a while...at this rate, anyways. ;p As long as I get thru book 5 by July 13th or so (when the movie comes out), I should be good. :D

I'm excited!

Today is Thursday, which means that I get off work at 11:00 (I'm only here for 3 hours). Then I'm going over to Lima Memorial to visit with Grandpa for a little bit. And then, I'm supposed to meet Mary (Jake's sister) at one of the Wal-Marts (either in Lima or Wapak) to do some Christmas shopping. :) I still have a lot more to go...mostly because there are still a few people that I'm having difficulties with figuring out what to get them...but I -will- be victorious! ;p
Anyways...I hope to see everyone when they get home and stuff. :)

Finally!!!!

I had my last final about 2 hours ago. I think that I did fairly well on all of them, but I'm a little concerned about my Math final. I want to say that I did fine, but there's a part of me that feels like I did a horrible job and that I could have put a little more effort into it and tried harder and all that negative stuff. But, I'm just going to ingore the voice in my head because I know I passed all of my classes. I hope I did well, but there really isn't anything more I can do now.

We had a baby shower for one of my co-workers today. It went really well...there was lots of good food (and there still is most of it left) and she had no idea what was going on. It was great! One of the advisors found an OSU onesie and she also got a soft Brutus rattle and a pair of OSU socks for the baby (he's a boy), and almost everyone pitched in some money, which was put in a card that everyone signed. And I got her some Bath & Body Works...little bottles of some of their seasonal scents (the Wickedly Hot Chocolate smells amazing!!!). So, I think it went really well, and I know she was totally surprised, which is always fun! :)

Almost there

Well, I survived 2 out of my 3 finals today. My Geology one went okay, but I'm a little worried about my Math one...it seems like I BSed my way thru more of the questions than I actually answered knowing what I was doing. So, that grade should be interesting...
I have my Communications final tomorrow at 10, and that should be okay...hopefully I'll get a chance to look over the stuff from the beginning of the quarter (because the stupid thing is comprehensive!!!) so that I can remember some of it...*stab*

Fantastic

Today is my last day of classes...and it's my short day, so I get to leave at 1!! :) I really don't want to take my finals next week, but I suppose I kinda have to...if I don't, they won't pass me and all that fun stuff.
I'm hoping to find some new tennis shoes over the weekend because, since all the rain and stuff, I've noticed how un-waterproof my shoes actually are. They both have holes in the bottom, so my socks get soaked every time it's wet outside, which has been happening a lot lately. So, it's time to toss those and get some new ones!
I offered to take my brother to the mall this Saturday to show him that he can find some "cool" stuff without spending $300 on 5 articles of clothing at Abercrombie & Fitch. And I believe that his girlfriend's coming along, too...so, we'll see how that goes. But, I'm dragging Jake with me, so I'll at least have someone to talk to. :)
